  7. Opus

  10. The \_bbs\opus directory contains the tools that created the
  11. files.bbs (files.txt for English, files.ger for German, files.spa for
  12. Spanish, files.fre for French, files.ita for Italian) file in each
  13. subdirectory.  These should be usable with Remote Access / TubFile /
  14. Opus / QuickBbs / Superbbs.

  18. \_bbs\maxtool contains a utility to copy the files.bbs (files.txt for
  19. English) files to one directory on your hard disk and create the
  20. hcdareas.ctl file that points to the index files.  A prebuilt control
  21. file is in this directory.

  23. PC Board

  25. The \_bbs\pcbtool directory contains the tools used to create the
  26. \_bbs\pcb dir??? files.  It also has a utility to create the global
  27. index file.  Please make backups on your configuration.

  31. The \_bbs\rbbstool directory has some tools and hints for installing
  32. the cdrom on a RBBS board.  The file listings are in
  33. \_bbs\translat\txt_rbbs.zip.   Thanks to Bruce Jackson.

  37. The \_bbs\sftool directory has some tools and hints for installing
  38. the cdrom on a spitfire BBS.  The file listings are in
  39. \_bbs\translat\txt_sf.zip.

  41. Wildcat

  43. \_bbs\wc30 contains a setup program for wildcat, version 3.55.  this
  44. is the commercial version, not the shareware version.  This works
  45. with versions up to and including 3.90.

  49. If you want to show me what your bbs requires for a directory area
  50. display similar to the rbbs display, please send me the exact
  51. specifications.

  53. I produced these with the program "makemenu" in \_bbs\menu.  This
  54. produces a double column listing of the area descriptions based on
  55. \_bbs\dirs.txt.  There are three versions of the directory menu, a
  56. plain version (dir.dir), a IBM high-bit version (dirg.dir), and an
  57. ANSI color version (dirc.dir).

  60. A lot of these programs use DOS redirection.  This allows a program
  61. that prints to "standard out" to `redirect' its output to a file or
  62. another program.  If it sends it to another program it goes through a
  63. `pipe'.  For example,

  65. makemenu > out

  67. sends the output of the makemenu program into a file called out.

  69. If I wanted to sort the output of the makemenu command and display it
  70. to the screen, I'd type

  74. If I wanted to sort it and sent it to a file, I'd type

  76. makemenu | sort > out

  78. Most of the batch files use redirection.  My utilites write to
  79. standard out so they can be redirected to a file or piped through
  80. another program accepts standard in as input.

  90. be useful for sysops.  Feedback is appreciated.  Prebuilt BBS
